French violin bow by François Nicolas Voirin, c.1880. Price on Enquiry.

Voirin (1833-1885) was born in Paris. Cousin to the famous French luthier, Jean-Baptiste Viullaume, he is generally regarded as the most important bow maker of the second half of the 19th Century. His bows have been used by many great soloists including Isaac Stern, Pinchas Zuckerman, Mischa Elman and Viktoria Mulova.

This particular bow was previously owned by Arthur Catterall, Leader of the Hallé Orchestra and BBC Symphony Orchestras in the early 20th Century.
