A very fine and rare French violin bow by George Frédéric Schwartz of Strasbourg, c.1830. Price on enquiry.

George Schwartz is an interesting bow maker whose work is considered to have been several years ahead of that of his contemporary, Gaulard. Schwartz's bow heads are sophisticated in design and his frogs are close to modern dimensions. This bow is gold and tortoiseshell mounted.
